Culture and nature in close proximity

After a 40-minute drive you will find the postcard subjects of Sweden in Smogen. There you can stroll in summer, eat fine, admire the yachts of the rich Norwegians and swim. When it's not summer, you have the area to yourself, which is particularly appealing. Lysekill is also a magnet location a little south of Smogen.

Just north of Smogen is the Ramsvikslandet nature reserve. Ramsvik is a peninsula. There are several beautiful circular walks .

There are 3000 year old rock carvings near Tanumshede. Vitlycke Museum is a knowledge and experience center for the Tanum World Heritage. A 6-kilometer hiking trail leads past rock carvings.

Shopping

Alcohol over 3.5 percent is available at Systembolaget in Munkedal in the center. There is also a pharmacy, a bank and a small ICA and coop. For shopping we recommend the Hemköp on the outskirts of Munkedal. It's open every day. Anyone who likes checked flannel shirts will be happy on the 1st floor!

In rainy weather, a shopping trip to the Torp shopping street in Uddevalla is recommended. That's where the Swedes do their weekly shopping. Be sure to go to the Sportshopen store. In addition to well-known brands, you can buy many great clothes from Swedemount there (especially those for wind and weather). Sportshoppen is located next to the Systembolaget behind the large coop on the left hand side towards the motorway.

The clothing store Lager157 (in Torp in the direction of the Bauhaus) has simple, muted colors and extremely affordable clothing in Swedish design (also for children) for those who have traveled without a suitcase.
